About Base

Base turns a set of documents into a cited, permissioned knowledge base that can be shared with one link and opened by people or by their AI. It is built and operated by Lucky Tree Labs, LLC.

What Base does

An owner uploads files and Base reads them into an overview, key facts, a timeline, and the people and organizations involved. Every fact keeps the verbatim quote it came from, and a fact whose quote cannot be found in its source is dropped rather than shown. The owner reviews the result, chooses who can open it, and shares one link. Readers open it in a browser or connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or any app that speaks the Model Context Protocol.

What people use it for

  • Handing off a client project with the decisions and sources attached.
  • Sending an investor or diligence package that the other side can question.
  • Onboarding someone to a team, a codebase or a deal.
  • Packaging research so readers can check every answer against its source.
  • Selling access to research or data, once or monthly.

The guides walk through each, and the comparisons say when another tool is the better choice.

How it is built

  • Grounded. Every fact carries its source quote, and summaries are built only from facts that passed that check.
  • Permissions live in the data, not the interface. A fact reaches a reader only when they can see every source behind it, and revocation and expiry are checked on every request.
  • Not a filter. Base decides who may read a source and how well a fact is supported, never whether a subject is appropriate. The people who use it handle sensitive material on purpose.
  • Open standards. Base speaks MCP and OAuth 2.1, so a Base works in whichever AI its reader already uses.

Who runs it

Base is a product of Lucky Tree Labs, LLC, which operates createbases.com and is the contracting party in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
